Singapore’s cocktail scene has exploded in recent years, and we’re feeling pumped that our little red dot is bursting at the seams with internationally acclaimed mixologists, spiffy bars, and award-winning concoctions. Next time you’re in need of a post-work drink or weekend watering-hole, head on down to one of these crackin’ bars for a tasty tipple that will tantalise the taste buds.
An urban izakaya for those who like their drinks served with a side of hipster vibes. Expect tipples incorporating Japanese flavours, like sake and umeshu, and an entire menu packed with original takes on classic faves.

Jigger & Pony
Amoy and Telok Ayer Street are packed with buzzy bars and restaurants. But Jigger & Pony is up there as one of our top places to stop for alocoholic refreshment. Drop by during the daily happy hour (6-8pm) to sample a selection of its finest concoctions at a mere $14 a pop.
Hidden away on Haji Lane is the brilliant Bar Stories. You won’t find a menu here, instead inform the mixologists of your favourite flavour profiles and they’ll concoct a bespoke drink from scratch that will tick all your boxes. Grab a seat around the bar to watch the team in full creative flow.
It didn’t win Asia’s best bar for nothing. Channeling old school New York vibes, the opulent interior provides a sophisticated backdrop from which to work your way through the innovative menu. You’ll be taken on a historical journey thanks to a repertoire that draws inspiration from old school trends combined with modern day flair.
Adding to Singapore’s rooftop bar club, Propeller is the first of it’s kind to set up shop around the HarbourFront area – and we say it’s a welcome addition. Cocktails start from a reasonable $19, and the menu features the usual suspects, plus a few house creations that sound divine.

An unassuming door with nothing more than a symbol daubed on the wall will direct you to this underground speakeasy. With an interior resembling an urban, concrete apothecary, your cool points will increase just by stepping foot through the door. Drinks are uniquely brilliant: well worth a visit.
Another Amoy Street gem; its sister bar in New York is up there on the world’s best bars list, and we reckon this hip joint will be joining the list soon! Upon entering you’ll walk through a mysterious fortune teller’s lair before finding the slick bar hidden behind. Great drinks, great ambience, knowledgeable bar staff: all the ingredients required for top bar status.
28 HK Street
A stalwart of the SG cocktail scene, our round-up wouldn’t be complete without it. Renowned for it’s brilliant mixologists, a tipple here will not disappoint. Be sure to reserve a table, it’s always busy and rightly so: a better cocktail menu you’ll be hard-pressed to find.
Pisco fans: rejoice! A menu heavily influenced by the famed Peruvian spirit awaits. If rooftop, al-fresco drinks are your thing, a trip to this Ann Siang Rd haunt is a must.

The Other Room
Blink and you’ll miss it. The entrance to this speakeasy is hidden within the depths of the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. But once you’ve found the secret door, you’re in for a treat. The menu boasts gentle interpretations of all time classics from a team that are making waves in the industry.
